Douglas Maurice Shoemake, at nearly 90 years old entered the gates of Heaven, on March 23, 2022. He was born on May 8, 1932, in Heard County, GA, to the late Harvey and Eunice Shoemake. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his sons, Perry Shoemake and Randy Shoemake; grandson, Austin Shoemake; and brother, Billy Shoemake.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Shoemake; son Jim Shoemake; daughter, Angela Sinclair; grandkids, Trent Shoemake, Kellyn Grizzle, Alayna Shoemake, Olivia Belmont, Madison Shoemake, Justin Sinclair, Aaron Sinclair, and Kristen Presley; and great grandkids, Keylee Grizzle, Titus Shoemake, Ezra Shoemake, Isaiah Sinclair, Hannah Sinclair, Rebecca Sinclair, and Titus Sinclair.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Trent Shoemake officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
