Mr. David Paul Thomas, 62, of Newnan, died Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his residence.

Born March 25, 1959, in Denton, Texas, he was a son of the late Freddy Ray Thomas and the late Laverne Hill Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Marietta. He loved music of all kinds, especially country, and playing the guitar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Conn, and his grandparents, who raised him, James Oliver "Whitey" Hill and Thelma Irene Shearer.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Beverly Thomas; children, Bobby Kirk of Jackson, David Tarl Thomas of Rome, and Elizabeth Ireland of Stockbridge; brothers, Tracy Ray Conn of Lewisville, TX, and Topper Conn of Houston, TX; sisters, Frieda "Shelly" Marshall (Van) of Dallas, TX, and Sue Denton (Bill) of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Dani Lynn Thomas, Hunter Kirk, Jr. Ireland, Abel Moore, Elijah Hartzo, Sadie Kirk, and Johnny Kirk; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.
