Obituary

Mr. Clifford A. Coggin, 86, of Newnan, died Sunday, July 28, 2024, at his residence.

Born November 27, 1937, in Newnan, he was a son of the late Hope L. Coggin and the late Josephine Houston Coggin. Mr. Coggin was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was proud of his military service and took time to place flags on the graves of other veterans on Veteran's Day every year. He was very intelligent and loved electronics, often working on tv's and radios. He enjoyed all types of music and especially enjoyed listening to gospel music on the radio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Brown, and a brother, Milton Coggin.

Survivors include his sister, Virginia Orr; brother, Lindsey Coggin; nieces, Martha A. Bunn, Debra Hendrix, and Charlene Perry; and a nephew, Lamar Coursey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
