Chris Jackson Wade, 67, of Franklin, widower of the late Mary Ann Mapp Wade, passed away peacefully at his residence in Franklin on June 13, 2026.

Born June 8, 1959, in Newnan, he was a son of the late Jack Wade and the late Nancy Creel Wade. From a young age, Chris found solace in the hum and grease of machinery. His enduring love for working on cars was more than a hobby; it was a form of meditation, a connection to an intricate world where every bolt turned and engine tuned brought satisfaction and purpose. To know Chris was to witness a craftsman at work; hands steady, eyes keen, heart deeply invested in the resurrection of old engines and the artistry of automotive repair. Yet, Chris was not confined to the garage. The great outdoors called to him with equal fervor. He found profound joy in hunting and the quiet serenity of nature’s embrace. Buying and selling antiques was a pastime that Chris enjoyed immensely, a treasure hunt through time where every piece told a story waiting to be told anew. Through these relics of the past, he connected with history's echoes, honoring craftsmanship and stories long gone, giving them new life in the modern world.

Survivors include his sons, Casey Wade (Jacqualine), and Carey Wade; brother, Jay Wade; and sister, Bonnie Morrell.

The family will hold a private service.
