Charlene Winkles Baswell, 80, of Newnan, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 7, 1946, in Newnan, to the late Neal Winkles and the late Martha Winkles. Charlene was the backbone and glue of her family. Her life was represented by her love and dedication to her family. She would go without to make sure they were taken care of, and all their needs were met. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Baswell; and sister, Lizzie Clarke.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lanier Baswell; daughter, Sherry Lee; son, Danny Baswell (Tina); grandchildren, Chad Baswell, Kayla Baswell, Chloe Baswell, Kristie Fox, Rebecca Moore, Karlie Cole, Brenna Baswell, Halie Chappell, Macey Baswell, Anna Baswell and Kyle Baswell; great grandchildren, Magan DeMarsh, Piper Baswell, Kane Fox, Kai Fox, Kennedy Fox, Kadan Cole, Karter Cole and Kenlie Cole; sister, Mary Beck; and brother, Tommy Winkles.

The family will hold a private service.
