Bryan Michael
Pickett
July 3, 1948 – January 13, 2025
Bryan Michael Pickett, 76, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Bryan lived a life that reflected his faith and love for his Savior, marked by service to his country, passion for athletics, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bryan's journey led him to Los Angeles, where he attended the University of Southern California until his call to serve in the Vietnam War. As a distinguished member of the Air Force, he earned the Vietnam campaign medal, bronze star medal, and good conduct medal for his valiant service, embodying the patriotism that would define his character throughout his life.
Following his military service, Bryan returned to Los Angeles before establishing roots in Atlanta, Georgia, where he built a successful career in the Airlines Industry. On December 22, 1978, he married the love of his life, Judith, beginning a beautiful journey that would span over 46 years.
One of his true passions was found in the water and on the sidelines as a dedicated swim coach. Bryan's coaching career was marked by remarkable achievements, including coaching club teams, volunteering with local school programs, and proudly serving as a coach for the US Paralympics in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His athletic prowess extended beyond the pool to volleyball, baseball, water polo, snow skiing and surfing. And after managing the sports travel for Georgia Tech University and serving on their broadcast team, he became a lifelong fan!
Bryan leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Judi Pickett; children Jacklyn Dukes (Jake) and Bridget Paschal (Chris); and nine adoring grandchildren who were the light of his life. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched as a coach, mentor, veteran, and family man. Above all, Bryan's greatest joy was sharing his love for Jesus with others, leading by example through his faith-filled life.
Bryan's life was a testament to the power of faith, dedication, service, and love. He was a proud American, a devoted family man, and an inspiration to all who knew him. His spirit and faith will continue to live on through the many lives he influenced and the family he loved so dearly.
A celebration of life service will be held on February 2, 2025. For additional details, please contact the family.
