Mr. Billy Joe Harris, 87, of Palmetto, formerly of Lakeland, Georgia, died Monday, May 9, 2022, at his residence.

Born February 23, 1935, in Clay County, Alabama, he was son of the late Brenton Harris the late Viola Bell Brown Harris. Mr. Harris was a United States Air Force Veteran and lived for many years in Lakeland, Georgia. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed cutting grass. His favorite activity was doing word search books.

Survivors include his son, Travis Harris (Penny) of Palmetto; daughter, Sheena Ivy (Calvin) of Stockton, GA; brothers, Edward Harris (Jane) of Roanoke, AL, and Harold Harris (Jeanette) of LaGrange; sister, Barbara Ann Pike of Franklin; grandchildren, Christopher Harris, Huey Harris, James Ivy, and Elizabeth Ivy; great-grandchildren, Lashay Ivy, and Micah Ivy; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at a date and time to be announced.
