Betty Ruth
(Parker) Johnson
January 21, 1942 – October 27, 2020
Mrs. Betty Ruth Johnson, 78, of Newnan, widow of the late Edward O. Johnson, died Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at her residence.
Born January 21, 1942, in Newnan, she was the eldest daughter of the late J. Q. Parker and the late Ida Lee Turner Parker. Betty was a dedicated employee at the local Winn-Dixie and later CVS. In these positions her social personality & her love for people was front and center, as she never met a stranger. In her later years, she loved visiting with friends and family, and seeing others smile and laugh brought her great joy.
Mrs. Johnson was a devout Baptist and loved sharing her love of the Lord. While her loved ones mourn their loss here on earth, they can find solace in the fact that she is rejoicing with the family that has gone on before her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bill Williamson, Jr.; sister, Shirley Emory; and niece, Donna Ward.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Lamar Cook, Amanda "Mandi" Wade, Holly Blount, and Samantha "Sammi" Yanes; great-grandchildren, Savannah Cook, Kohl & Christian Wade, Trinity, Hunter, and Nicholas Logan, Edwin & Jayden Yanes; sister, Joyce Cook; nieces and nephews, Deborah Harless, Patricia Ayers, Dale Parker, Nancy Parkerson, David Harrell, and Kimberly Cook; special friend and caregiver, Tammy Whatley; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service was held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
