Obituary

Mrs. Betty Ann Carr Jeffery, 71, of Newnan, widow of the late William L. "Buster" Jeffery, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born November 16, 1949, in Anniston, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Annie Marks Edwins Ware.  Mrs. Jeffery was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Kroger after 20 years of service.  She was a feisty lady who loved spending time with her family and was known as Mimi to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed the outdoors and going camping with the love of her life, her husband Buster, to whom she was married for 24 years.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, William Taylor, and a sister, Brenda Peyton.

Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Abney (Rob) of Lafayette, AL, Terri L. Rapier (Keith) of Newnan, Jeanna Barrett of Largo, FL, and Lisa Jeffery Sims (Larry); son, Jeff Jeffery; sister, Patricia Elaine Elliott of Decatur; brothers, Terry Carr (Rena) of Milner, Hollis Carr (Irma) of Jackson, and Dwayne Barnett (Caye) of Newnan; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021, in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Jason Walton officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
