Barbara Ann
(Holloway) Wilson
July 19, 1936 – July 21, 2024
Mrs. Barbara Holloway Wilson, of Newnan, widow of the late Joe I. Wilson, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the age of 88.
Born on July 19, 1936, in Newnan, Georgia, a daughter of the late Henry Holloway and the late Sue Moore Holloway. She was a lifelong resident of Newnan who cherished her community and the bonds she formed therein. Barbara's life was marked by her unwavering faith and her dedication to the East Newnan Baptist Church. As an active member of the Women of Wisdom Sunday School Class, she found joy in fellowship and in the shared pursuit of spiritual growth. Retiring from Kroger after years of diligent service, Barbara's work ethic and warm personality left a lasting impression on both colleagues and customers. Beyond her professional and spiritual commitments, Barbara was a woman who found pleasure in life's simple joys. She was an avid shopper, always on the lookout for the perfect gift to brighten someone's day. More than anything, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, instilling in them the values of kindness and generosity that she embodied. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Holloway, and a grandson, Adam Willingham.
Survivors include her sons, Joey Wilson (Linda), and Tim Wilson; daughters, Jenny Pryor (Joe), and Lori Hipp (Robbie); her sister, Janice Driver (Calvin); grandchildren, Leslie Brown, Lindsey Brown, Joe Petrosky, Michael Hall, and Max Hipp; 7 great grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel with Reverend Frank Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
Flowers will be accepted, and the family suggests that those who wish, make donations to the East Newnan Baptist Church Building Fund, 14 Pearl Springs Trail, Newnan, Georgia 30263 or online at https://eastnewnanbaptist.org/ in memory of Mrs. Wilson.
