Angela Darlene "Angie"
Bass
February 15, 1967 — June 13, 2026
Newnan
Angela Darlene “Angie” Bass, 59, of Newnan, left this world on June 13, 2026, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born February 15, 1967, in Newnan, she was a daughter of the late James Bass and the late Joan Leavitt Bass. Angie was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where her faith nurtured a boundless kindness and innocence, and an unyielding spirit of generosity that marked her as a true angel among us. To know Angie was to witness a soul that would do anything for anybody, a rare and precious gift that set her apart. Her laughter was infectious, a melody of joy that could brighten the darkest of rooms, and she had a special place in her heart for children. Rooted deeply in her Maliseet Indian heritage, Angie took immense pride in this lineage, embracing and celebrating it as one of her proudest accomplishments. Angie found delight in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed trips to the casino, where the thrill mingled with camaraderie and fun, and she was a huge wrestling fan, passionately captivated by the drama and athleticism that the sport displayed. Though her departure leaves a void, her legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will echo through the hearts she touched, a lasting reminder that angels walk among us, sometimes disguised in the humblest of forms.
Survivors include her sisters, Tammy Bass, and Lisa Kingsbury (Mark); brother, Billy Bass; her longtime companion, George King; nieces, Rebecca Lopez, and Jessica Beusse; nephews, AJ Hammond, and Levi Newton; her aunt, Shirley Harrison; and numerous other cousins, family members, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Tim Stitcher officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
