Allen Edward Bauer, age 65, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at his home in Thomaston.

Allen was born Oct. 18, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from D. D. Eisenhower H.S. in Blue Island, Illinois. After a brief stint in college, he moved to Georgia in 1983 and became a toolmaker with U.S. Tool and Die, finishing his career with Die-Tech Engineering. Allen was a lifelong scout in the Boy Scouts of America and earned his Arrow of Light, Eagle Scout with 5 palms, and Ad Altari Dei. As an adult he became involved with the Flint River Council and was awarded the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, Vigil Rank in the Order of the Arrow, Cheerful Service Award, and Founders Award. Both local troops and the Woodbadge course benefited from his talents. Although work left little free time, he devoted his life to raising a family and Boy Scouting. He lived in Newnan for 38 years. In his retirement years, Allen spent many hours putting his considerable mechanical talents to work while building the family's new home in Thomaston. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, children John, Regina, and Miranda, and sister Laura Bauer of Champaign, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Hillcrest Chapel.
