Mrs. Alice "Ferrell" Jones, 87, of Whitesburg, died on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at her residence.
Born October 21, 1934, in Newnan, she was a daughter of the late Howard Moore and the late Naomi Lassetter Moore. Mrs. Jones was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church. She loved working in the yard on her flowers and enjoyed travelling, especially to Amish Country, and playing the piano. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Sue Grizzard; and a son-in-law, Phil Eason.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Horace M. Jones; daughters, Becky Mashburn, Donna Eason, and Karen J. Earnest, all of Whitesburg; grandchildren, Josh Mashburn and Daniel and Devin Mashburn; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Mashburn, Jesoline Mashburn, Jace Mashburn, Josie Mashburn, and Noah Knowles; special friends, Edna Morek and Ken Yearta; and a host of other dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Andy Whitley and Pastor Alan Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, one hour prior to the service. The family asks that those in attendance follow social distancing guidelines.
Serving as Pallbearers are Ronnie Pate, Wyndel Carnes, Larry Jumper, Josh Mashburn, Kevin Jones, and Ken Yearta. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rayford Garrett, Don Wells, and Jimmy Turner.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Whitesburg Baptist Church Building Fund, 350 W. McIntosh Circle, Whitesburg, Georgia 30185, in memory of Mrs. Jones.
