Mrs. Alice Mae "Sue" Jones, 86, of Cullman, Alabama and formerly of Newnan, died Monday, July 1, 2024, at her residence.
Born July 5, 1937, in Tallapoosa, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Fred Hollis Long and the late Maebell Thomas Long. Sue was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed family get togethers and going out to eat, and she loved to go shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Jones; son, Marvin T. Jones; and her siblings, Roy Long, Mike Long, Johnny Long, Betty Ruth Owens, Brenda Barnes, Peggy Copeland, and Patricia Webb.
Survivors include her son, Eric Jones (Sandra); grandchildren, Angel Destiny Camp, Brian Timothy Jones, James Hollis Jones, Russell Timothy Jones, Ashley Nicole Rodriguez-Viuores, Patrick Eric Jones, and Erica Jones Burton; great-grandchildren, Corey Marvin, Casey Timothy, Destiny Nicole, Elizabeth Nicole, John Warren, Hollis, Dreama, Orion, Justin Michael, Charlie Mae, Waylon Dillard, Russell Timothy, Pacey, Oren Rayburn, Jada Nevaeh, Jaden Eric, Emilie Chevelle, and Harlie Jean; a great-great-granddaughter, Alaya Warren; and her best friend, Carolyn Pope.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel. A private service will be held on Friday.
