Obituary

Albert Eugene Quick, Sr., 79, of Franklin, GA passed away on May 25, 2024, at his residence.

Born Jan 29, 1945, in Coweta County, Georgia to Earnest Eugene & Lois Pauline (Beckom) Quick. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Robert Lewis Quick, sister Lila Mae (Quick) Waddell and Great-Grandson Jonathan Alan Louis-Caswell. He married the love of his life Shirley Ann Morris on June 27, 1962, in Coweta County, Georgia. He loved the Lord and reading his Bible over and over. He knew his Scriptures. He was a huge Atlanta Braves fan, played the Guitar and wrote songs. In 1990 He wrote the song 'Soldiers of America' in honor of the soldiers in Desert Storm, in which his brother Lamar Quick was serving. The song was sung by Ansley Exner of Coweta County. He retired from ABF Trucking Company in 2004, after working there for 20 years. There wasn't much he couldn't do, spanning from working on Mechanic work, Carpentry, writing songs, and he was self-taught at playing the guitar from a young age.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Quick, daughter Robin Ann Quick of Newnan, GA, sons & their spouses Gene & Tabetha Quick of Newnan, GA and Michael & Danielle Quick of Franklin, GA. He is survived by 9 Grandchildren: Tabitha (Caswell) Lambert & Chris Burton of Lexington, KY, Alan Caswell of Newnan, GA, Justin & Corie Quick of Grantville, GA, Tyler & Emmaline Quick of Grantville, GA, Evan Quick & Ashley Thompson of Newnan, GA, Kensley Quick of Franklin, GA, Christian & Shylie Quick of Franklin, GA, Kaitlyn Quick and Kolton Quick of Franklin, GA. He is survived by 13 Great-Grandchildren: Ian, Brenda, Carina, Nevan, Sophie, Jayden, Ava, Sophia, Isaac, Daniel, Remington, Lena, and Leighton. He is also survived by siblings: Mary & B.L. Binion of Carrollton, GA, Sam & Faith Quick of Newnan, GA, Lamar & Judy Quick of Conway, AR and Carolyn & Tom Smith of Newnan, GA. He is also survived by Brother-in-law Douglas Meeks of Newnan, GA and Sister-in-laws Betty Quick of Louisiana, Gloria Morrison and Jeanette Morrison of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel with Minister Barry Binion, Associate Minister Justin Quick, and Pastor Brian Hosmer officiating. Interment will follow in Southview Cemetery in Moreland. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel.

The honor of serving as pallbearers will be bestowed upon Tyler Quick, Evan Quick, Christian Quick, Kolton Quick, Ian Kendzierski, and Steven Kendzierski.
