Obituary

Alan Reid Dunn, 65, of Woodbury, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston, Georgia.

Alan was born in Miami, Florida, on July 6, 1960, to the late Neal Joseph Dunn and the late Kathryn Hablow Dunn. His family later moved to Clewiston, Florida, where he attended Clewiston High School and distinguished himself as a pitcher on the baseball team. He went on to attend South Georgia College on a baseball scholarship before moving to Atlanta to continue playing baseball at Georgia State University.

Following college, Alan began his 40+ year career as an electrician with IBEW Local 613 in Atlanta. He spent most of his professional life as an estimator and project manager, first with McClean-Riggins in Smyrna, Georgia, and later with Miller Electrical Contractors in Ellenwood, Georgia.

Alan will be remembered for his love of the Lord, reflected in his generous spirit and natural gift for encouraging others. His compassion, thoughtfulness, and kindness lifted those around him and left a lasting impression on his family, friends, coworkers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer (Sims) Dunn; his three sons, Andrew, Nicholas and Joshua; stepson, Brad Wallace; and eight grandchildren.

A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Bob Patterson. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

To honor Alan’s legacy of giving, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
