John Albert Barge, Sr.

Mr. John Albert Barge, Sr., 78, of Luthersville, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born March 26, 1941 in Tyrone, he was a son of the late John Columbus Barge and the late Elsie Shaw Barge.  Mr. Barge worked in the airline industry as a mechanical supervisor for 36 years, before retiring from North West Airlines in 2004.  He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Senoia, where he also taught the adult Sunday school class.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Crews Barge; daughters, Jayne Cook (Leonard) and Sandra Dietrich; sons, John Barge, Jr. (Bobbie), Joseph Barge (Deanne) and Stephen Crews (Barbara); 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Pam Walker (Randy); brothers, Thomas Barge (Polly) and Pat Barge; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Michael Stewart and Preacher Steve Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Luthersville City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
