Janice F. Mayes

Janice F. Mayes, 56, of Newnan, passed away on January 5, 2020 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Born November 25, 1963 in Atlanta, to Reba Sue and Harold Seaborn Mayes, and was the 10th of 14 children.  Janice enjoyed Harley Davidson and collecting frog and turtle knick-knacks. Janice is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Martha Mayes, Ronald and Sue Pitts; two brothers, Melvin Mayes and Terry Mayes; and one sister, Ramona Elliott. 

Janice is survived by her fiancé Kenneth Higgins, and 3 children: son, Charlie (Holly) Knight of Newnan; daughters, Jessica (Michael) Shelnutt of Long Pond, PA, and Nicky (Stan) Brock of Franklin; 7 grandchildren, Sieanna (16) and Logan (15) Shelnutt, Dawson (11) and Trey (8) Hayes, Skylee (12), Charlie IV (9), Curtis (6) Knight; and a host of family and friends that she loved as her own.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Hillcrest Chapel.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
