Mr. Harvey L. Cooper, Jr., 78, of Newnan, widower of the late Lynda Smith Cooper, entered into Heaven on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Born May 7, 1941 in LaGrange, he was the son of the late Harvey L. Cooper, Sr. and the late Annie Pearl Funderburk Cooper. Harvey grew up in Hogansville but has been a longtime resident of Newnan. He was a Christian who loved the Lord and his Church and was a member of Miracle Tabernacle. Harvey served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis from 1960 to 1965. He was in the medical sales field for 28 years; during this time, he worked for Air Shields, Surgilase and was the president of Orion Medical. In 1995 Harvey began selling cars with Danny Beleau, which later became Mike Fitzpatrick Ford Lincoln Mercury. After his retirement from the automotive business in 2014 he worked with Crown Insurance. Harvey was a wonderful, loving husband and father. He enjoyed playing golf, pool, and spending time with family and friends. He was a kind, gentle man who was always happy and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his daughters, Charity Abraham (Sean), and Rachel Cooper; his grandson, Bradley Schwebke and his girlfriend Debbie Rubino, all of Newnan.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Miracle Tabernacle Church with Pastor Richard Clay and Pastor Dan Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home Hillcrest Chapel.
